Survey Reports

Most forest protection agencies prepare reports of their survey or sampling activities for distribution to forest managers and the public.

EXAMPLES

  1. Forest Insect and Disease Conditions. Compiled for each Region by the Forest Pest Management Division of the US Forest Service (Slide). The reports include graphs of insect activity compiled from the annual aerial surveys (Slide).
  2. Status Reports. Compiled by Forest Pest Management to summarize the status of ongoing outbreaks of specific insects in particular localities (Slide). These reports often contain maps showing the progression of an outbreak over several or many years (Slide).
  3. State Reports. Most state forestry agencies also publish a report of forest pest surveys and the results of control activities (Slide). These reports usually have more detailed maps and may provide the results of pheromone trap surveys and/or egg mass or larval sampling (Slide).
  4. Others. Various other reports appear from time to time for public relations purposes (slide).
